MyGuns stores all sensitive data with military-grade AES encryption — up to AES-256-GCM on paid plans. Without your password, your data is unreadable — by anyone.

AES encryption at rest

All sensitive data is encrypted with AES-GCM before being stored on our servers — up to AES-256-GCM on paid plans. Your data is never stored in plain text.

Per-user keys

Every user has a unique encryption key derived from their password using Argon2id. Without your password, your data cannot be decrypted.

AES choice

Choose your encryption strength: AES-128, AES-192 or AES-256-GCM (plan dependent).

Recovery key

A one-time recovery key lets you regain access even if you forget your password.

Password-derived key

Your encryption key is derived from your password using Argon2id. It is never stored.

No plaintext storage

Gun names, serial numbers, notes and photos are never stored unencrypted on our servers.
